Inspection disclaimer
We'd rather set honest expectations up front than surprise you later. Here's exactly what an inspection is — and isn't.
Last updated: July 16, 2026
Scope of the inspection
An AutoCheck Pros inspection is a professional, good-faith evaluation of a vehicle's observed condition at the time and place of inspection. Unless a specific add-on service states otherwise, the inspection is visual and non-invasive: we do not disassemble components, remove interior panels, lift the vehicle on a hoist, or perform internal engine or transmission teardown.
What an inspection cannot do
- It cannot predict the future. Vehicle components can fail at any time, including immediately after an inspection that observed them functioning normally.
- It cannot reveal everything. Some defects are intermittent, concealed, inaccessible, electronic, or otherwise undetectable through visual and non-invasive methods. The absence of a finding is not confirmation that no defect exists.
- It is not a warranty or guarantee. The report does not warrant, insure, or certify the vehicle, its safety, its roadworthiness, or its value, and it does not create any guarantee of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
- It is not an appraisal or purchase advice. Observations that may be useful in negotiation are informational only and are not legal, financial, or purchase advice.
Conditions that affect findings
Findings can be limited by weather, lighting, vehicle cleanliness, storage position, access rules at dealerships and auctions, whether the vehicle can be started or driven, and the time available. Where a road test is not permitted or possible, driving-related characteristics cannot be evaluated and the report will say so.
Vehicle-history reports
Vehicle-history products (such as CARFAX) contain only what was reported to them. A clean history report does not mean a vehicle is accident-free, and history information is never a substitute for a physical inspection — nor is an inspection a substitute for reviewing the history.
Your decision
The decision to purchase, sell, bid on, or pass on a vehicle — and the price you accept — remains entirely yours. We recommend combining the inspection report with maintenance records, a vehicle-history report, appropriate professional advice, and your own judgment.
